We have extensive photographic experience having established Blink in Paris as the #1 photo agency of its time - with photographers such as Newton, Bailey, Sieff and others. And now represent Frank Worth, The Playboy Legacy Collection and other iconic photographers.
Our founder and President is Mike Japp . Mike is British and after studying the history of Art, Fine Art & Applied Arts at Hornsey College of Art & Design (London University) he went on to pursue a highly successful career in Advertising & communications, becoming Creative Director for some of the world's foremost advertising agencies (JWT, Y&R & Saatchi). In addition to his extensive and diverse specialist knowledge in the world of art & collectibles he has extensive marketing experience. This "duality" of experience has become an essential and integral part of successful auction sales in the world of today and has contributed enormously to the success of AAAS. Mike consulted for Sotheby's and ran the Phillips New York rare stamp & collectible dept.
Monica Niculcea manages many aspects of the business: from customer invoicing, mailings and online listings to describing and site management. She also acts as the primary liaison between all affiliated shipping companies and insurance providers. She is a summa cum laude graduate from Queens College, CUNY with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics.
Monica is assisted by Wayne Alfred who namely handles the outgoing mailings.
Jason Nelson has extensive experience in many areas of collecting and especially in rare coins & jewelry. He comes from a long line of expert gemologists and previously worked with New York auction houses such as Tepper and later Doyle Galleries. Jason holds a bachelors degree in History from Tufts University and is a Graduate Gemologist from the GIA.
Our photography area is partnered by Gary Blau whose keen eye as a collector and scholar of the photographic genre has provided access into vintage and contemporary collections of iconic images that includes Frank Worth’s Hollywood, proclaimed by Christie’s of London as, “The most extraordinary collection of its kind in the past fifty years”.
